I-Fri: Angels & Devils

(click for larger image)

rotated so you can see the eevil deveel:

This one stumped me at first. My first first thought was of MC Escher's Angels&Devils (below). This one is inspired by that. While sketching, I started thinking of the light and dark playing off each other, and how that is like the chinese Yin Yang. And there it was, idea born. I was going to leave it B&W at first, but I rather like the colour in the end. done with ink & Photoslop.

and here is a Escher's take on the theme:

enjoy!

Escher was the first thing that came to my mind too. Your illo is great! Loved the line work and the colors too. Very clever!

Thanks everyone!
stefano d.: everybody is different but in general i try to create a new piece specifically for i-f's theme - it keeps the creative juices flowing! I only post pre-made illos if i'm really busy and have no time to create a new one.

Marvellous works - I think both the images would be nice to a cd- if one could bare to cut out to the round hole in the middle..
Yes, Escher has made a lot of great stuff -

You did a great job with this. I also like the expressions you gave them. Very angelic and devilish. Again, great job!

Very clever...and very weel executed. It has a great graphic style (love the Escher influence) and works so well conceptually. After all, the conflict between good and evil just keeps going round and round...
