Hey-diddle-diddle




I wanted to try doing something really quickly tonight, as I usually agonize over compositions before I transfer them onto good paper to paint. This time I just drew straight onto the paper - lots of fun! the blue colour is a bit blown out here - I think I would like it darker next time. I used black coloured pencil for the linework and I like the sketchyness of it...

yes, it's fun doing pics where you put no pressure on yourself and just go for it, they also show this freshness... cute!

I think these are great, you should remember that line. I love sketchy liines, working on that myself. One has to be careful that the background doesn't get too busy (my problem!). Your background are just textrued enough but simple so it workd well.

There is a freshness in doing images 'straight to the board'. I figure that doing an image fast gives it a certain energy. I get buzz brain if I spend too many hours on an image. Afraid to make any change as I might ruin all my work. Fast and furious means I have can just do it again.
