Tomorrow, no sorry, today is Father's Day in Australia, so here is one to celebrate dads:
Quite happy with this, except for my bl**dy writing! I was trying to think how I could do the 'weeee' part with collage but couldn't figure out how to paint over it without the collaged bits buckling, so just went ahead and wrote it in. it's okay for a card, but not for, let's say, my folio. hmmm. might post this to my critique group and see what they suggest... (or if you have any ideas on ways to incorporate text/collage, dear reader, let'em rip!)

One thing that is most beautiful about your illo's is the texture of the watercolor paper....
What about using so collaged, painted watercolor paper in some way to create depth...Then it would cover the exsisting letters so you wouldn't have to redo the whole piece...
Or photoshop it in and fade in the edges...
It is a wonderful piece!!
Dad's day here in NZ too. Love the card - so true and so apt.
To add text I've used heat transfer using text printed with laser printer - mirror or flip the text before printing, then use an iron to transfer print onto your piece. If you plan your piece and have a laser printer(or easy access to) you could print text first straight onto your paper (depending on size of your piece). Other way I've used is laser print text and chop into individual words and arrange on top of paint, making a feature of it. Another method using printed text is to coat with a few layers of acrylic medium and after dried soak in water and rub away the paper then adhere to surface. Or stamping - using alphabet stamp set, or carve custom stamps from white eraser (remembering to reverse text) :) and stamp using ink or acrylic.
have fun :)
