Well everyone, I am pretty much finished illustrating Surprise! Thank you so much to everyone who has been along for the ride - hopefully you have gotten something out of seeing a bit of my process.
I think we are extremely lucky to be illustrators and enjoy what we do. Isn't that the ultimate dream really? To be paid to do what you love to do? It really is a privilege to share this with you, I hope you have enjoyed it.
So I will leave you with the new-and-improved cover. It is not that different from the first one, just a bit tightened up, and I changed the cat's position as you suggested (Tom, because I had already done this before your comment, I will see what Karen thinks and possibly change it post-scan.) Thanks for all your suggestions/encouragement everyone!! and happy illustrating to you all.
Oh, and what is that the the kids are passing to one another? Well, you'll just have to read the book to find out! (heh heh)

I love the colors, yes they look much brighter. And the kitty looks much better in that position :o)
